this is how speed can slow you down

Speed or Direction

Speed or Direction

This question has plagued my mind for years.

Not even in just work, but in life in general.

Is it better to spend time finding the right direction to run, or do we spend our time running so when we make a mistake, we can quickly redirect.

The mental struggle of a perfectionist.

I'd love to explore this more in a personal setting, but let's look at things through the lens of business, branding and marketing.

Whether you’re growing your company fast or not, you need to be growing in the right direction.

I speak with business owners all the time who are dealing with this problem. Some rebrand cases result from not finding and sticking to one clear direction from the very beginning.

When you start out without a precise vision of where you want your brand to go, it gets real messy real quick.

And here's the kicker: the further you travel down the wrong path, the more difficult and expensive it becomes to correct course and get you back on track.

I've seen this happen time and time again.

Most founders start off with tons of passion but without a crystal clear vision of the destination. Still, they give it their all.

They invest serious money, time, and people into building a brand they didn't properly aim for in the first place.

The name of the game is precision.

When you're super confident about the direction you want your personal or business brand to go, any amount of speed takes you one step closer to your goals.

But if your direction is foggy, you'll just end up wandering aimlessly, no matter how hard you run.

So do the hard work upfront to get clear on your brand vision.

Map out exactly where you want to take things.

Then make sure every marketing campaign, every hire, every initiative aligns with that North Star.

It'll save you tons of headaches and wasted resources down the road.

Hope you enjoyed this!
